Wendell appears as a guest artist on the song Rising on the Jazz Combustion Uprising album Self-Immolation.
Wendell Hanna, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor of Music Education and Bassoon in the College of Creative Arts at San Francisco State University.
She has been the principal bassoonist with the Oregon Mozart Players, the Eugene Opera, and the Salem Chamber Symphony, plays frequently with the Berkeley Opera, and her improvisational adventures have resulted in two other professional studio recordings.
Wendell consults as a music education expert to the Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra, corporate preschool programs and is an active leader in the National Association for Music Education, the International Society for Music Education, the California Music Educators Association, California Band Director’s Association, and the California Council on Music Teacher Education.
Her scholarly articles on music education have appeared in the Arts Education Policy Review and The Journal of Early Childhood Connections, and Dr. Hanna has a forthcoming textbook in the area of Early Childhood Music Education and Movement, which will include original instructional recordings.
